Ph.D. in Economics | Research Director

Dr Steen Carlsson joined IHE in September 2009. She earned her PhD in Economics at Lund University in 1999 on the thesis “Equality of Access to Health Care”. Her research include empirical economic analyses and evaluations of medical technology and health interventions. Recent and on-going research includes analyses of registry data on long-term disease (diabetes, haemophilia) and disability (personal assistance, adults with multiple functional limitations). Dr Steen Carlsson is appointed health economist to National Guidelines for Diabetes Care at Socialstyrelsen (the National Board of Health and Welfare).

At IHE, Dr Steen Carlsson’s research and consultancy include economic evaluation of medical technologies and health interventions, and statistical analyses of health registry data.
